Release Notes - Next important item

Super(b) skipping

Next/Previous important item frame skipping introduces intelligent frame selection to your 2D Video and 3D Point Cloud workspaces, automatically identifying important frames in your annotation workflow.

Frame-by-frame navigation as it currently exists in the annotation workspace is limited by the number of frames it can skip at once, being restricted to a single frame (using β€œ,” or β€œ.”) or to 5 frames at once (using β€œSHIFT” + β€œ,” or β€œ.”).

Next/Previous important item frame skipping is introduced to partially automate the identification of important frames and allow you to smoothly move across the project.

How it works

AND

NEXT IMPORTANT ITEM

Available in every 2D video workflow, you can automatically advance to the next important frame in the video timeline.

By using the "L" and ";" keys with a shape selected, you can quickly skip between each keyframe on the timeline.

Next/Previous important item in action

Skipping intelligently is useful as a tool when used in addition to regular frame skipping. Where you'll likely extract the most use out of Next/Previous important item frame skipping is while working with projects that provide pre-annotated assets.

As more shapes are added, and more key frames are available, quickly skipping through playback allows you to review the shape placement and make adjustments as needed, which can be followed up by precise frame-to-frame skipping for individual shapes. For more information, check out the demo below:
