Release Notes - Play button and Shape filtering

👍

Tools to lead to enhanced annotation

The Play button enables quick task assessments or reviews while Shape Filtering offers more control when shapes are layered limiting

What's new in this release

PLAY BUTTON

Available in Video workspaces, the Play Button allows you to immediately start and stop playback of your asset.

A new button, and associated shortcut (SPACEBAR) has been added to every video workspace, enabling video asset playback at the video's original frame rate.

Feature limitation: the play button will only appear in projects where FPS is available, so video projects referencing images in a zip file won't have a Play Button.

SHAPE FILTERING

Available in the shape list via the filter button, the selected attribute will filter the shape list and workspace to display only the associated shapes.

Shapes will be filtered based on the first static label. All shapes can be viewed again by selecting Reset.

Feature limitations: Currently, the filters feature has no support for multi-level menu shape labels or dictionaries.

Applying these features

While both features are included in the same release note for efficiency, they provide distinct benefits when used. Apart from their obvious differences, the two aforementioned features also occupy different niches in the annotation process.

The Play Button is best used at the beginning and the end of an annotation, perfect for a first assessment after the task loads, or a final review before submitting your work. Shape Filtering is useful during both annotation and review, allowing you to continue adding shapes in environments where they would otherwise be layered, and allowing review agents to ensure quality of all shapes, without individually toggling visibility.
